A family lodge of long standing, Southern Cross has been a part of the fabric of Mt. Buller for over 60 years. Enjoying a fantastic location right opposite the Village Square, it is ideally located to enjoy all the best that the Mountain has to offer. With easy access to the Canyon Rope-Tows and Lydia Lassila Chairlift it provides true ski in/ski out accommodation. Having Buller's best dining and entertainment options all a short walk away, it is perfectly placed to take advantage of everything that makes a stay on the Mountain so enjoyable.

Southern Cross was first established in 1951, consisting of a three room wooden hut. In 1971 this structure was replaced by the current brick Lodge, which was expanded to include units and family rooms capable of accommodating 48 people. In 2018 the Lodge underwent significant renovations, updating the family rooms and installing brand new en-suites, and improving and expanding the lounge area to create the modern Lodge we enjoy today.

First and foremost, Southern Cross is a family Lodge. With club members ranging from 12 months of age to the nineties. Many member's children are involved in Mt. Buller's squad and race teams, and the lodge has always been focused on providing a warm and welcoming environment and a comfortable place to stay. Operating as a traditional lodge, all rooms have access to the communal kitchen and dining room for self catering, where members and guests are expected to clean up after themselves and maintain a neat and tidy area for their fellow guests. Units have their own self contained kitchens. All rooms are offered in full, and no beds are sold on an individual basis.

We pride ourselves on our family atmosphere and expect all members and guests to help uphold these values.
